The initial challange

EUCAPA sought to create a patient-friendly platform that simplifies the complexities of Health Technology Assessment (HTA). The main challenge was designing a website that is both visually appealing and capable of effectively conveying statistical and medical knowledge in an understandable manner for lay audiences. The challenge was to craft a website that balances technical sophistication and user accessibility. EUCAPA required a platform to train patient experts, raise awareness, and support treatment evaluations, all while addressing design consistency, technical performance, and legal compliance. Meeting the tight timeline for delivery added an extra layer of complexity. Finally, we had to replace the initially selected batch of stock imagery with hand drawn custom illustrations in a requested style in alignment with the project's visual identity.

Our solution

"Boostern delivered a full-stack solution for EUCAPA, starting with custom brand guidelines and a logo to establish a unique identity. Using Next.js for the front end and Strapi as the Content Management System, we developed a highly accessible, scalable, and SEO-optimised platform. This tool allows seamless integration of training resources while ensuring GDPR compliant. We also designed unique 2D vector illustrations replacing all stock images, creating an inclusive and engaging user experience. Our approach combined accessible graphic design, UX/UI design and custom web development expertise to build a robust platform tailored for EUCAPA’s needs. The result: an accessible, performant, and compliant website empowering patients and fostering collaboration."
